Originally designed for the Apple II by Michael Abbot and Matthew Alexander, and rather obviously inspired by Nintendo's Donkey Kong. Nearly all the elements found in Donkey Kong have been either reused or reinvented here.
It's unknown who did the Atari 8-bit port, but likely either Abbot or Alexander was involved (or both were). The December 5th, 1983 issue of InfoWorld magazine featured an article on page 111 (tinyurl.com/ld6f36m) that mentions some controversy surrounding the game over its depiction of OSHA as a villain.
The score counter rolls over at 100,000. BUG: The level counter rolls over to 00. After completing that level, the level counter starts again with 01.
