My ATARI 800XL always boots into the Self Test instead of into Basic.
(I say READ/WRITE signal twice, I noticed. I meant to say Chip Select).
I had already replaced the GAL (thinking the ROM wasn't addressed as I didn't see any change on the READ pin). That didn't fix it, so today I will replace the old ROM with a BASIC EPROM. This however requires a little conversion board, that we will make and see.... Does my ATARI 800 become an ATARI 800XL again?
