October 7 began with the Hamas attack on Israel, but for my family it immediately became personal. My son was called toward Gaza, while I was mobilized as an IDF reservist to protect Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria from feared copycat attacks.

We entered the Israel war believing the world would support the Jewish people after the worst massacre since the Holocaust. What followed exposed how quickly sympathy disappeared and antisemitism returned.
