Climb aboard a piece of Texas history and travel back to 2003 to relive a permanently lost, opening-day classic! This is a full, uncut ride-through of the historic "Serpent" roller coaster at the beloved Six Flags AstroWorld in Houston, Texas, beautifully preserved from April 26, 2003.
Originally debuting with the park's grand opening in 1968, this classic Arrow Dynamics mine train coaster was the first roller coaster ever constructed at AstroWorld. Designed as a perfect family thrill ride, it spent nearly four decades serving as the perfect "first coaster" for generations of Houston kids. This vintage 2003 archive captures the entire winding, scenic journey through the trees as it looked just two seasons before the park was tragically closed and completely demolished in October 2005. Because this classic coaster was scrapped during the demolition, this footage stands as a vital historical record of AstroWorld's roots.
