Hey everyone, Tony here from Space But Messier. If you are watching this video, you’ve probably been following along with our Astronomy Masters Program here on Youtube. In our first 6 videos, we have covered half a chapter of our text, which is The Cosmic Perspective 9th edition. But this text is 24 chapters long and this is only one of my 6 remaining courses left in my degree. So, that’s a potential of 200 more videos for this course alone. At a pace of once a week, this would take me 4 years to complete and that is too long. I want to be teaching you concepts AS I LEARN THEM so it’s time to ramp things up. Starting in October, I’ll be publishing 2-3 videos per week on at least Wednesday and Saturday. This series will continue to go into: Astronomy, Astrology, Light, Telescopes, Multiverse, Dark Matter, Planets, Moons, you name it. But next week I start a new job for a company that I’m really excited about where I get to produce educational videos and podcasts all day, everyday. So ramping up here on Space, But Messier will happen, but it will be hard. That’s why I’d love your help. Don’t worry, I’m not asking for money, although if you’d you’d like to donate, there is a link below; there are other ways you can help in this mission to provide free graduate level space education to the world, all while helping them see that they aren’t too stupid to study space. So, here is what you can do:
First, the Youtube algorithm values engagement. So on each video, if you could like, leave a comment, and/or share each video with a friend or family member, that would help tell Youtube that you, the one that views my videos, also believe it should be shared.
Second, I think the biggest value that this series can have, except for of course each of you, listening from the comfort of your home, is to make this available to different school districts or systems. If you know of any science education or online school programs that could use educational content like this, please let me know either in the comments, or reach out to me via email.
Third, I am really curious about why you are here. What drew you in? Was it the high quality video, the lessons in space, a book giveaway on Instagram, a tiktok post, my cool shirts, all of the above? Let me know in the comments why you, personally, continue to come back for more and I will do my best to keep that coming. I’m sorry there was no lesson this week, but we are about to ramp up in a big way. I’m filming for my job 8 hours per day, I’m editing the most fun project I’ve done in a while, which I’ll post here in a week, and I’m rebuilding a fully dedicated Youtube studio for these videos. It’ll have space artwork, toys, legos, planet globes, space trinkets, you name it! So keep an eye out for progress posts on Youtube Shots and Tiktok.
