In this video, Aston Villa take on Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League as protests erupt. Israeli away fans were banned from attending after West Midlands Police stated they wouldn’t be able to manage the large demonstrations expected around the match. Despite the ban, protests were still planned, with some groups calling for the game to be cancelled entirely. Around 700 police officers were deployed outside Villa Park, and local schools even closed early. We take a deep dive into the protest to see what it’s really all about.
