Asteroid Apophis is currently approaching Earth and is currently just bright enough to detect with an amateur telescope like mine. This is a 52 minute time lapse using 30 second exposures with an 8" Meade LX200 and SBIG ST-2000XCM with an AO-7 adaptive optics unit.
