By Toutatis, another Asterix video?! Haha yep and this time I made a Guitar Medley of the prequel to Asterix & Obelix simply called, Asterix for the SNES! As previous said in my last Asterix video, Asterix & Obelix are comic book characters and they were huge in popularity in Europe especially. In this game, Obelix has been abducted by the Romans while he was sleeping and it's up to Asterix to rescue him before he's thrown to the lions. It's funny how the villagers are more concerned about the lions than Obelix because they know he will just obliterate them with his super human strength anyway haha. The game is a pretty challenging platformer with some very stellar music I'd say! I love how the title music is a banger right out the gate, the forest is super cute and bouncy, the pirate ship is just badass, the snowy mountain sounds perfect for the environment, the cliffs sound peaceful and the Roman Empire sounds intimidating! All I can say is that the composer did an excellent job in making this game come more alive and I appreciate it a lot since I played this as a kid! For a medley's sake, I did cut some stuff out in certain songs to keep the flow going so check out the original tracks if you like what you're hearing! Having played the game again recently before recording this medley, I'd say it's a hidden gem in my eyes with pretty tight controls although it's a bit floaty every now and then but perfectly playable! It's good that the game showers you with extra lifes too because you're gonna need them if you don't know what you're doing haha. Anyway, it was super nice to go down nostalgia lane for this one and I hope you'll enjoy my Guitar Medley of Asterix for the SNES!
