ASTEO Red Neutra is deploying state-of-the-art FTTH infrastructure across seven provinces in Castilla y León - one of Spain’s most sparsely populated and digitally excluded regions. The project targets 680 ultra-rural municipalities, many with fewer than 300 households, and delivers gigabit-speed connectivity to users traditionally left outside broadband investment plans. Supported by NextGenerationEU, the initiative offers a neutral wholesale network model that enables telecom operators to reach communities that would otherwise remain commercially unviable. By connecting over 192,000 households, ASTEO is empowering rural residents with access to telehealth, online education, cloud services and remote work opportunities.
