Welcome to Sacred Restorations, a limited series on the SSPX Podcast that highlights the beautiful work being done across the U.S. District. In this episode, we travel to Walton, Kentucky, where Assumption Academy is building the future of Catholic education. Fr. Stephen Stanich and Mr. Sean Cooper walk us through the remarkable growth of this chapel, from the original SSPX church and school in Cincinnati, to the move to Walton in 2010, to the arrival of the Dominican Sisters and the flourishing of both the boys’ and girls’ schools. What began with a small chapel and just a few dozen students has grown into a thriving Catholic community of nearly 1,500 faithful, nine priests, and hundreds of students. Now, with the boys’ school outgrowing its space, Assumption Academy is raising a new building with classrooms, offices, a full kitchen, and a hall large enough to serve the whole community. It is an ambitious project, but one meant to last for generations.
