This is a Assassin's Creed III glitch, showing no Shaun near the portal!

I have been unable to recreate this exact glitch, and have tried many times. Somehow, Desmond managed to glitch Shaun off of the platform, and Shaun fell as if nothing was happening. I could still continue on with everything else gameplay wise, but Shaun was gone forever, until I reloaded at a earlier point.
