This session drew on the experiences of Ukraine's ongoing fight for national survival against Russian revanchism and the Philippines’ efforts to resist coercion in the South China Sea, in an effort to assist the development of Australia’s 2026 National Defence Strategy, which will be developed in the context of rising global instability.
Speakers included General Emmanuel T. Bautista (Ret’d), 44th Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Managing of Ayala Corporation, Rachel Noble PSM, former Director General of the Australian Signals Directorate, and His Excellency Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia and New Zealand. The session was moderated by Justin Bassi, Executive Director of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.
