The first ride in this video from Aspen Grove to Summit Trailhead was just west of Wasatch County above where the gate is closed seasonally at Aspen Grove near Sundance Resort. One of my favorite Springtime things to do is bike above closed gates to windy mountain passes before they open to car traffic. This includes our`May 4th upside-down lollipop hike and bike on Alpine Loop Road up to Summit Trailhead 🏔 🚵♀️ 🚵♂️ ⛰ 🍭 On the descent from Summit Trailhead I deviated down a mountain bike trail from one of the hairpin turns while Scott followed pavement back to the Aspen Grove parking lot on his road bike.
I took time on May 19th to pedal around near home mostly on pavement and test out some new gear. The property owner at the dead-end in Independence was nice enough to let me discover a locked gate for myself before I stopped for lunch in Daniel short of where Big Hollow Road ends and the shooting range begins. Sometimes maps.me intel pans out and sometimes it doesn't.
