This time is "Ask Me Why" from Hayao Miyazaki's "The Boy and the Heron" ( 君たちはどう生きるか ) composed by Joe Hisaishi. Intended to be his last film, Hayao Miyazaki creates a masterful love letter to the art of animation and bids farewell to his fantasy world of Ghibli that he has built over his decades long career. Joe Hisaishi brilliantly scores the whole movie that brings a sense of fantastical wonder and awe. This song plays numerous times during emotional points in the movie and is heard in 3 different variations: Evacuation, Mother's Message, and Mahito's Commitment. We combined all 3 in somewhat of a suite to present all 3 versions to you in sequential order.
Composers: Joe Hisaishi ( 久石 譲 )
