In recent years, youth have been leading pro-democracy protests across Hong Kong, Thailand, Burma, and among Uyghur and Tibetan diasporas. In these countries and across Asia, authoritarian control is deepening its roots. From entrenched military rules to dominant one-party states, regimes are increasingly relying on repression, mass surveillance, and restrictive laws to silence dissent. Young people are using pop culture, encrypted messaging apps, memes, viral videos, and more to inspire mass participation and reclaim their future for democracy, justice, and freedom. #YouthQuakeAsia
