Asheville, North Carolina has always been one of those places that just does its own thing, drum circles, incredible food, a creative energy you can feel walking down the street.

When Hurricane Helene hit in September 2024, the damage was devastating. Nearly 30 inches of rain, catastrophic flooding, over 100 lives lost, and a tourism-dependent economy that took a massive hit overnight.

A lot of people have been asking: is Asheville okay? Can you still visit?

We drove over from Chattanooga to find out for ourselves and the short answer is yes. Asheville is open, and the people here want you to come.

In this video, we're spending 24 hours eating, exploring, and seeing what Asheville looks and feels like right now. We hit some incredible spots, met business owners who've been through it, and walked away reminded why this city has always been worth the trip.
