Before I was sent this article by 80 Level, I had never heard of them, and probably for good reasons. At first I wasn't sure if an AI had written this article or if it was really just this poorly written with, in my opinion, zero journalistic integrity.
A review of the background information the article author has made public indicates he has zero formal education as a journalist, zero experience as a staff writer, and at the time of publication all 4 years and 2 months of his experience in was at 80 level starting as a Junior Editor and now serves as the Head of Content, which other publications would equate to their Managing Editor.
There is no love lost between Intrepid Studios and myself and this article isn't any sort of attempt to get back into their good graces. Instead, it is a highlight of terrible journalism in the video game space. This article isn't just incorrect in its interpretation of business terms (firing vs layoff), it is also, again in my professional opinion, libelous and defaming to Intrepid Studios.
