I took this as a character redesign challenge.
The old version of this character was sad and depressed (ugh) because she was being bullied for having two tails (which stood out like a sore thumb, UGH). The black and red was really offputting and hard to look at. The anatomy is garbage. theres no background whatsoever, etc. This was the epitome of edginess thats typical of a child. Her name was even Bloodflame, which is an awful choice in name, and I had to specify all the time that the red color on her wasnt a burn or a scar its her REAL fur color!
The new version of her is based off a manx cat with a larger nub tail. Since she was iconic for having two tails, and I wanted to stick with that, I made them less noticeable but shortening the tail based on the breed. Since I was so adamant about having a character named Blood-freaking-flame, I at least gave her a reason to have it now. She is covered in burns from a forest fire. Now onto the color. Shes a tortoiseshell female with black and red being her only colors. I considered adding white since most torties have white on them too but I thought it blended into the burns and made it too much.
Im proud of how she looks with her little bat ears.
