On January 13, 2023 the eldest son of former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, William Asa Hutchinson III (47) was arrested and charged with DWI (his fifth one), speeding, refusal to submit to a chemical test, possession of a controlled substance and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.
Hutchinson was released from jail two days later on a $50,000 bond. Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms is a Class Y Felony in Arkansas, which carries a minimum sentence of ten years, but no more than 40 years or life.
Hutchinson's passenger, Kaylie Lobanoff (28), is not currently facing any charges in connection with the incident.
