The AS Pedals La Pelusa Experience Fuzz is their take on the venerable Fuzz Face, using a mix of NOS low gain Silicon transistors and top notch components, so you get the best of version of this fuzz whether you’re looking for pristine cleanup, smooth sustain or starved and gated fuzztones.
The outer controls are your bread and butter output Volume and Bias for Q2 which has a broader sweep and lets you find your Sweet Spot in an instant. Fans of this circuit will know that the guitar’s volume control is crucial in determining the overall gain, so the fuzz Gain along with other fine-tuning trimpots are located inside so you can set-and-forget.
The Clean trim is a nice addition that changes input impedance, like an additional guitar volume pot that you can clean up internally. Lastly, you get rare control over the Q1 Bias (first transistor) which is more subtle and has an effect on the “feel” and compression as opposed to broad strokes of the external Q2 Bias. Best of all, La Pelusa is handmade in Spain, dialed in one by one and each manual gives you a custom tailored “Sweet Spot” bias setting since NOS transistors vary.
