I bring to you another sea-related myth!
Selkies are mythological creatures commonly associated with Northern Isles of Scotland, where they are believed to live as seals in the sea and shed their skin to become human on land. There are many tales of female selkies being romantically involved with humans, often being tricked into marriage by the one who has stolen their skin. The land-bound selkie is often described as being unhappy, forever longing for the sea, and will escape back to the water should she find her skin.
While selkies are described as being both friendly and kind and dangerous and vengeful in nature, I opted to go with the more popular tale, of a selkie trapped on land and longing to return to the ocean as I already wrote of the more vengeful aspects of a related myth, mermaids, in my song Siren's Call youtu.be/qY1AotJteTA?si=73d_gv-LIVq2n06p .

Lyrics:
She walks alone along the shore
Eyes like oceans, deep and torn
A broken heart, a stolen skin
Trapped between, can’t dive back in
Waves are calling, soft and low
But the land won’t let her go
Lured by love, bound by chains
Dancing in the salt and rain
Oh selkie bride, lost from sea
Loved by man, but not set free
Sing your song, cry your name
Dream of tides that call again
Oh, selkie soul, bound to land
But the waves still call your hand
One day soon, you’ll slip away
Back into the water’s sway
Golden ring and cold embrace
Tears that shimmer down her face
Longing for the deep unknown
While he swears this is her home
Waves are calling, soft and low
But the land won’t let her go
Bound by love, bound by chains
Dancing in the salt and rain
Oh selkie bride, lost from sea
Loved by man, but not set free
Sing your song, cry your name
Dream of tides that call again
Oh, selkie soul, bound to land
But the waves still call your hand
One day soon, you’ll slip away
Back into the water’s sway
Moonlight shines upon the sand
A hidden pelt, a trembling hand
One last kiss, one last tear
In the blue she disappears
Oh selkie bride, lost no more
Running back to ocean’s roar
Silver waves, salt and foam
Now the sea will take you home
Oh selkie soul, wild and free
No more chains, no more grief
Call your kin, feel the tide
The sea is where you come alive
She was never meant to stay
The sea has called her home today
