Arturia BeatStep is connected at an old MIDI Thru Box that sends clock to MIAMI drum machine and notes to Novation Bass Station II. BeatStep sends sequences of 16 (or less) MIDI Notes and drives the playing rate. There's no way - with straight MIDI connections - to act in real-time transpose for the sequence, except the big encoder on the BeatStep panel.
