Detroit Symphony Orchestra | Art @ The Max VII Virtual Experience @detroitsymphony | Uploaded August 2020 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
Art @ The Max VII was originally intended to be displayed throughout the Atrium at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center from April to July of 2020. When the pandemic made that impossible, we moved to a new online video format that allowed us to delve more deeply into the art through direct dialogue with the artists.
Our re-imagined Art @ The Max exhibition features interviews and works by Detroit artists Carole Harris, Judy Bowman, Sydney James, Ryan Standfest, Jeanne Bieri, Oren Goldenberg, and Halima Afi Cassells. The evening also includes a special performance by DSO musicians Principal Percussion Joe Becker, Assistant Principal Percussion Andrés Pichardo-Rosenthal, and cello David LeDoux.
