Art Tatum plays his self-composed song, The Shout. This version was recorded sometime from 1934-1937. This was influenced by James P. Johnson and Fats Waller (and probably anyone else who played "shouts"). I have not heard this version on Youtube, so I figured I'd upload and this is actually my favorite version of this song. He does a better job with his thumb work in this song than I've ever heard (such as at 1:55-2:00). This version was recorded in August 1934, around Tatum's exuberant prime.
