So some time after my publisher recruited me to see what I could write in the realms of silly, bite-sized erotica, I had some questions about whether there was a difference between it and pornography other than a negative stigma. This video contains some of my findings / conclusions.

00:24 The Fig Leaf Campaign
01:30 The Problem with Prudes
02:03 The Knowledge-based Solution
02:39 The Etymology of "Pornography" and "Erotica"
03:17 The Artist's intimacy with art
03:49 A sex worker's perspective on pornography / erotica distinctions
04:21 How pornography *can* be inclusive and affirming
05:03 What this all has to do with writers
05:38 Erotica vs. Romance
06:06 Questions to ask when assessing a work for eroticism

Naughty fantasy stories to keep the publisher's lights on by:

And some less than fantastic puppetry (my stage instructor would kill me. On the astronomical chance you see this, sorry, Ms. Steele)

Should you want to know more about the Urban Justice Center as clumsily-but-sincerely mentioned in this video, here's the address at which I found them:
swp.urbanjustice.org

There are other organizations out there who do both similar and great work, but these are the folks who impressed me the most.

If you don't trust me (and who could blame you) / want to read up on similar materials to see if you come to a different conclusion, here are as many sources as I can remember using:

etymonline.com/word/erotic?ref=etymonline_crossreference

philosophytalk.org/shows/erotic-vs-pornographic

medium.com/lessons-from-history/vaticans-fig-leaf-campaign-ac86884b87a9

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fig_leaf

(um, I actually found what look to be some more comprehensive sources *after* I made the video. Sorry about that)

Thanks for visiting the channel.
I am something of an antisocial eccentric, but I am actively trying to be more of a blessing than a curse to my fellow writers.
