The recipe I use for homemade gesso:
1/2 cup baby powder
3 Tablespoons white glue
2 Tablespoons white liquid acrylic paint.
(Adjust the glue and paint to suit your desired thickness. I add a little more paint to mine.)
There are a lot of gesso recipes online. Some use baking soda instead of baby powder, but I found it to be too gritty. I made some up in small batches to see how I liked it before making the entire recipe.
For the type art I create (for my own pleasure and generally in old books) this homemade gesso works just fine.
