How can we teach children empathy, inclusion, and real-world awareness through art?

In this episode of the Spark Art Series, Shuruart Foundation takes a simple classroom topic—“Where there is a will, there is a way”—and reimagines it through a powerful, real-life lens.

Instead of focusing only on individual struggle, this workshop encourages children to think deeper:

Are specially abled people facing challenges because they are incapable… or because our surroundings are not designed for them?

From imagining ramps in buses to accessible school washrooms, children expressed thoughtful, solution-oriented ideas through their drawings.

This is the power of art-integrated learning—
It doesn’t just teach concepts, it builds sensitivity, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence.

Since 2017, Shuru Art Foundation has been working with 30+ government schools, helping children learn beyond textbooks and become more aware, empathetic, and thoughtful individuals.

When children learn to see the world from different perspectives,
they don’t just become better students—
they become better human beings.

If you are a parent, teacher, or educator, you can try similar art-based discussions at home or in your classroom to nurture:
✔ Empathy
✔ Inclusive thinking
✔ Problem-solving skills

And if your children create something, share their artwork with us—we’d love to feature it on Shuruart Foundation’s social media!
