The Mixed Media Art Sculpture - Disconnect, Gather Together in Thy Name is a piece that I created that looks at the lived and residue experience of generation one of displacement, loss, silence, erasure and the battle that continues to tell our stories, but also of hope, strength, gifts and restoration.
I met Sister Fatima Dupres-Griffiths at the Regional Exhibition at the Norman Center as part of the @CARIFESTAXV and @TheNCFBarbados series of events held in Barbados. She felt moved to sing this song as a part of the expression.
