Pros & Cons:
Pros:
Cheap
Compact
Fullsize pans
Good color selection
Don't get overly gummy
Saturated color (for the most part)
Activate readily
Cons:
Flat feeling watercolors
Fall apart when you mix colors
The Verdict:
To me, these are cheap watercolors, but hey, the price point reflects that. I do take some issue that they refer to these as 'professional' art supplies- I've complained about this before, but that term does have a specific meaning, and I don't fele like these paitns fit that. These paints claim to have a high pigment load, which is somewhat contrary to my experience, as several colors have weak activation, and while they promise high lightfastness according to the Blue Wool Standard, I'd like ot see those results. These can't include the colors they claim (Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Red Pale, Cadmium Red Deep) and also be non toxic- if they switched them out, those would be hues. I know these are cheap, and for $25 no one is expecting a whole lot more, but I do think pointing out these issues is important- these FEEL like inexpensive $25 aliexpress paints, and while they're fine for that, you should be aware as a customer of what you're getting.
I really tried to come around on these and just couldn't.
