I shoot GoPros with arrows (by mistake) and so I put together a protective helmet shield for my new one.......and then put an arrow straight through it.
I thought the helmet was thin and a bit rubbish, but after testing its thickness it is clear yet again that longbow arrows are dangerous!
Helmet is made from mild steel, 0.2% carbon and is 1.8mm thick at the impact point.

Collectively as a team, we are planning to make four more "Medieval Mythbusting - arrows vs armour" films this summer, but this time using medieval steel and looking at a helmet and arms and the maille as well as the breast plate. This will require funding and so if you are interested in helping out, we will be letting you know later in the year.
