Icarus Moores has been at this whole "court house" thing for a while. Abel Morro? Not so much. His naivety will cost him in this city if he's not careful and Icarus intends to make him aware of that.
This animatic takes place after chapter 5 of Contingency and is best understood if you have read up to there.

This scene is a lot more introspective and slow paced than one might expect for an animatic/cutscene but I always intended this short as a tone set piece. A way to set up the vibe for the rest of the series. (My next planned animatic will most likely be an action sequence) These boards were made for a dialogue workshop I took back in October of 2025 with Alex Chiu and I have been sitting with them ever since.
If you're interested, I thought it might be fun to do a "directors" commentary style video where I walk through all my thoughts on the boards and how I went about making this project happen (and maybe what I have planned for the future). So if that's something you might like to see, let me know!

This animatic has been a long time in the making! I originally posted the WIP back in April and to see how far its come is a little bit crazy.
I will talk about this more in a future video, but I moved the placement of Warrior of the Mind in the musical for this animatic (because I didnt realize where it took place when I first started back in March, and at that point I was in too deep). So yes I know its not supposed to take place with the infant but I think the motivation and moral obligation/dilemma presented to Odysseus are the same therefore please dont leave like 8 billion comments mentioning this lol.
Also because I know this will come up: Yes my Odysseus design is derived from the Hades video game designs, same with my Athena. I tweaked them to fit into Epic a bit better but youre not crazy, young Odysseus does look like Zagreus, thats on purpose.
And finally, thank you to everyone who followed me on this journey of sleep deprivation to complete this animatic on my self-imposed deadline, yall are pog

This is a progression video showing the stages for how a shot comes together for my animated short film BOBA! From storyboard to final comp theres a lot of love that goes into every frame and I wanted to show a glimpse at the work that goes into each.
