Turnips are kinda broken, to be honest. I have no idea why they left this in the game, but hey, FREE MONEY! They also patched the duplication glitch, and that glitch was dirty anyway. Turnip price ranges came from the Animal Crossing Wiki, as stats from the previous games. After seeing countless turnip prices, I think the range is the same.
