November Snow!
Wow that temperature suddenly seemed to drop overnight as we saw the first snow of the season. I decided I had to try to get over to find my bit of winter in the Lake District.
Thankfully the A66 was clear to drive across and I did manage to get across to the lakes to enjoy a snow day.
I start this walk at the Armboth car park along thirlmere reservoir. This is still currently a cash only car park. It’s £5 for 5 hours or £8.50 for 8 hours.
From here I head up towards High Tove and then over to Armboth to bag wainwright’s number 117 and 118.
I absolutely loved the is snowy walk and I hope you do too!
**Quick note on winter hiking safety, it’s important that every hiker always carry’s a few extra bits when exploring in the winter months. Depending on the hike you may need: microspikes, crampons, axe, extra layers/thermals, hats|gloves, head torch and spare batteries (this is important for the shorter days even if your not planning to walk in the dark!), emergency snacks (always vital 😅😆) etc. Please always be responsible and stay safe out there! Happy Hiking 🥾
