I've been making attempts at two op trapper clears on the TW-EX stages and I'm not sure any of them are possible. Quite a few are possible with a Scene + Trappers comp though. So here's my shameful Scene carry.
TW-EX-1 Challenge is rough mostly because you can't keep units on the charge pads. Once the enemy gramophone is charged, the trappers die real quick unless you want Scene to run out of drones baiting. So you have to kill some whisperers, then retreat the trappers, and have Scene hold down the fort. The final waves start around when your trappers come back thankfully.
I think normal mode might be possible with just the trappers but I've spent too long staring at it so I gave up and dropped Scene in there to save my IRL sanity.
