🚙 Drive America’s Highways north along Arkansas Highway 7 from Temperance Hill Road to Arkansas Highway 5 in Hot Springs, Arkansas — through the heart of the Spa City and the narrow Ouachita Mountain corridor that has shaped travel here for generations.
Travel north along Arkansas Highway 7 through Hot Springs, Arkansas, beginning at Temperance Hill Road on the southern side of the city and continuing to the junction with Arkansas Highway 5 north of town. Highway 7 is one of Arkansas’ best-known scenic highways, stretching across much of the state and crossing the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains along the way. Through Hot Springs, however, the route takes on a distinctly urban character as it becomes one of the principal north-south streets through the city.
From Temperance Hill Road, Highway 7 heads north through the developed southern side of Hot Springs, passing a mixture of commercial areas, neighborhoods, lodging, and roadside businesses. The highway gradually approaches the historic center of the city, where the surrounding terrain begins to tighten around the roadway. Hot Springs occupies a long valley between ridges of the Ouachita Mountains, and Highway 7 follows that natural corridor directly through town. ARDOT has long identified Highway 7 as one of the city's primary north-south routes, with the mountainous terrain limiting the number of practical alternatives through the area.
Continuing north, Arkansas Highway 7 becomes Central Avenue and enters the portion of Hot Springs most closely associated with the city’s history and identity. The highway passes directly through Hot Springs National Park and alongside the historic downtown district, including the Bathhouse Row area that grew around the city’s famous thermal springs. Hot Springs is known as “The American Spa,” with 47 natural hot springs associated with the national park and a history built around the thermal water emerging along the base of Hot Springs Mountain.
North of downtown, the character changes again as Highway 7 leaves the densest part of the city and continues through the Park Avenue corridor toward the northern edge of Hot Springs. Development becomes somewhat less concentrated while the surrounding hills remain a prominent part of the landscape. The route ultimately reaches Arkansas Highway 5, historically an important junction for traffic continuing toward Hot Springs Village and communities northeast of the city.
A note about the footage: This drive uses previously unpublished RealRoads footage recorded after an earlier version of this route, but before completion of the Hot Springs Bypass extension and the new roundabout at the Highway 5/Highway 7 junction. The bypass extension added roughly 6 miles of new roadway between Highway 70 and the Highway 5/7 junction and was designed in part to move through traffic away from Highway 7 through central Hot Springs. As a result, the northern end of the drive looks different today, and individual businesses or other roadside details may also have changed since this footage was recorded. The underlying Highway 7 journey through Hot Springs, however, remains readily recognizable.

🚙 Drive Americas Highways for 5 miles south along MS-315 from Sardis to Oxford, Mississippi 🛣️
This drive along Mississippi Highway 315 begins in the town of Sardis at its junction with U.S. Highway 51. From here, the route heads east, quickly leading into the rolling, wooded landscape characteristic of northern Mississippi. Soon the highlight of the trip comes into view: Sardis Lake. Rather than taking the elevated roadway across the top of the dam, the drive follows the lower path at the base of the massive earthen structure. This alignment provides a unique perspective, allowing travelers to appreciate both the engineering of the dam and the sweeping views of the surrounding water and countryside.
Continuing south and east, the road curves through a mix of forested hills and farmland that define the transition between the Mississippi Delta and the upland terrain of Lafayette County. This section of Highway 315 offers a calm, two-lane drive with light traffic and plenty of natural scenery, making it a pleasant alternative to the busier four-lane routes nearby. As the road nears Oxford, the character of the drive shifts toward a more developed landscape, with small communities and local roads leading toward the university town. The trip concludes at the junction with U.S. Highway 278, just west of Oxford, where connections can be made to the city center and points beyond.

Passing through the small towns of Nimrod and Aplin, where the highway intersects AR-155, AR-60 makes its way to Perryville where the segment of AR-60 from Fourche Junction to Perryville ends at the intersection with Arkansas Highway 9.

🚙 Drive Americas Highways for 32 miles north along Arkansas Highway 123 from Sand Gap to Western Grove.
We start the ride from Sand Gap to Western Grove turning north onto Arkansas Highway 123 from a junction with Arkansas Highway 7 just north of Sand Gap. Driving generally north, we travel about 15 miles through the Ozark-St. Francis National Forest to the junction with Arkansas Highway 74 in Mt. Judea. Now driving north on the conjoined AR-74 and AR-123, we leave Mt. Judea to the north where we pass through the community of Vendor before reaching Piercetown.
At Piercetown, we continue north on AR-123 as AR-74 splits to the west. Entering Hasty a few miles later, the highway turns generally northwest for the remaining 9 miles to Western Grove. At Western Grove, we end the video at the intersection with U.S. Highway 65.
