A compilation of all the attempts + practice that I needed to beat the challenge of Arkanoid on hard mode with only 1 credit (1CC). On hard mode, the 'P' and 'B' powerups never drop, so it's extra difficult to get more lives, and you cannot skip any level as you try to survive all the way to round 33 and beat the boss there.
Without the 'P' powerup, the only way to gain lives is by getting points. You get one extra life every 50k points, starting at 20k score. So 20k and 70k, then 120k and 170k, 220k and 270k, etc.
Sorry for the stretched aspect ratio. When I recorded this footage I still hadn't figured out how to do it properly with DOSBox.
DOS Port of Arkanoid played on DOSBox-x. 6000 CPU Cycles = Hard Mode. Played with mouse + keyboard.

Do not download the 2026 version of DOSBox-x; it keeps crashing to desktop.
