Jeff and Sarah drop into historic Oatman, Arizona to check out the buildings that are left as well as marvel at the burros, the descendants of the ones who served miners and prospectors of over a century ago.
Oatman is tucked away in the Black Mountains of Mohave County, Arizona and is a community rich with legend. The town was named for Olive Oatman and her family who were victims of the Oatman Massacre in 1851, and it came to life in the following decades as prospectors discovered gold, ore, and other valuable resources in the land. It hit a boom cycle in 1915 and lasted for a solid two years.
