Hanwha Defense’s multi-purpose unmanned ground vehicle has showcased its manned-unmanned teaming live-fire capability.
Codenamed ARION-SMET(Small Multi-Purpose Equipment Transport), the 6x6 UGV is armed with an indigenous remote-controlled weapons station (RCWS) that can lock on targets automatically using acoustic sensors to determine the source of gunfire during the confusion of combat. The RCWS can carry a 5.56mm gun with an option of 7.62mm or 12.7mm.
ARION-SMET features a payload capacity of 500kg and a cruising radius of 100km. Its maximum speed is 40kmph on paved roads and 20kmph on non-paved roads, with the communication distance of 1.5km or more.
