People keep asking if I ever do road ride videos, so I thought I'd do a little video, to test the cheap ebay tachometer, and give the engine some little harder bursts now I've got close to 1000 miles on my rebore. The rather optimistic little tacho says I'm doing well over 9000 rpm, but I doubt it very much. The engine is starting to feel very smooth now, and I take it up to 3/4 throttle on the bypass for about half a mile, before turning down the back lanes and riding at varying throttle openings again.
UPDATE. I was just reminded that my Thorspark electronic ignition, has a wasted spark, meaning it sparks twice per revolution of the crank. The solution is simple enough to switch the unit to the S1 setting for such systems, and the problem will be solved.
