Taken from the Love Dose (Tim Engelhardt Remix) - 20 Years Of Poker Flat Remixes EP -
Out now on Poker Flat Recordings: PokerFlat.lnk.to/LoveDose20years
Continuing the much welcomed celebration of Poker Flat's 20 years in the business, another classic from the back catalogue gets the remix treatment.
Originally released in 2005, Love Dose was the first release on Poker Flat by the then rising star, Argy.
The greek born Argyris Theofilis would go on to become a major player in the scene, and it's not hard to hear why with Love Dose - a subtle and hypnotic track with evocative vocals in Spanish by Valeria.
In the hands of German producer and Poker Flat regular Tim Engelhardt, the track gets a new lease of life - the edges get sharpened and the rhythm a little tighter, while the balearic, acidic influences continue to shine through. Music for a sunrise in Ibiza, then and now.

There have been few record labels that have made such an indelible mark on the landscape of electronic music as Poker Flat. Founded by Steve Bug in 1999, the label coined a sound and style that dominated club culture for years. Glitchy, mechanised beats paired with moody pads and sinister chords would take hold of the club scene in the mid 00s, but Poker Flat championed these stripped-back sounds well ahead of the pack.
With a back catalogue that includes more than 300 releases, it’s no surprise that many of these remain club staples to this day. Many artists now recognised as household names got their first break with Poker Flat, and the label prides itself on discovering and championing the next wave of artists.
Key to Poker Flat’s success has been their refusal to chase after trends, instead remaining focussed on the sound with which they established themselves. Their aim for the future is to continue to keep putting out exceptional electronic music from exceptional artists.
