This is the second Peavey 6505 MH I got that this happens to. This crackly hum comes in after about an hour of the amp running. And no, it´s not user error. I wish it was, that would be an easy fix :p
I tested and tried everything I could, nothing helps. The only things I couldn´t test was switching the power amp tubes, rebiasing or checking the capacitors. I mean it´s a new amp. I´m not about to spend extra money to get it fixed like that out of the box.
I chucked it down to two possibilities. Either this amp model has a manufacturing defect, or the load box somehow has a defect that damages the amp. I already have a new load box and am currently awaiting a new amp. Not the same model, though.
