Alicia Partnoy, a victim of the Argentine Military Junta's "dirty war" is surrounded and pummeled by Argentine government supporters and then rescued by a CBS News Crew (Legendary DC based Eugene (Gene) Gerlach with camera and James (Jim) Duffy). All three are heroes. Demonstration called by the embassy of Argentina, Washington DC, in an effort to build support for the United States to support/remain neutral after the Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands.
Bill O'reilly falls short on his war hero status. He neither helped those being abused, nor did he denounce the right-wing Argentine dictatorship that "disappeared" those who opposed that military regime. In 1982, during a critical time when it was uncertain whether the United States would support Britain or Argentina, Alicia Partnoy, took center stage at a pro war Argentina demonstration, in Washington, DC to denounce the right-wing military regime and in support of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, the association of Argentine mothers whose children were being "disappeared" by the Argentine military regime.
