*Warning - Political Content.* How did we get to this point? According to psychiatrist Aaron Krasner, when you cross human nature and the selection of narcissism and sociopathy at the highest levels, you get autocrats in office as part of a pattern of "progress" and "regression" that seems to repeat again and again.
What is wrong with us? Despite the accumulated knowledge we humans have, we can’t seem to stop hurting each other — whether it’s on a personal level or on a global scale. We’re wedded to our primal lizard brain "stuff": aggression, xenophobia, oppression, etc. And it looks like knowledge won’t save us. The immediacy of pain and fear make deferring gratification impossible, which is a problem for the future of the planet and its inhabitants.

We talked with Aaron Krasner about Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and the mental health field in general. He is a psychiatrist, and an expert on emerging personality disorders in adolescents, among (many) other things.
