Should Christians care about environmental issues?

Absolutely.

But the biblical reason for caring about nature is fundamentally different from worldviews that either treat nature as divine or view it as the unintended result of unguided processes.

Christianity teaches that the natural world is creation.

It has a Creator.

God declared His creation good and gave humanity responsibility to exercise wise stewardship over it.

That distinction creates an interesting opportunity for evangelism.

When someone expresses deep concern for nature, Christians don't necessarily need to begin by arguing about environmental policy.

We can begin with a deeper question:

Why does nature have value in the first place?

Questions about creation ultimately lead to questions about the Creator.
