In this discussion, I had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Al Garza and have an honest conversation about some of the major claims being made by Unitarians regarding Scripture, biblical interpretation, and scholarship.
We don't just talk about theological differences — we look at how the arguments are actually being made.
Claims about Scripture that we believe involve misrepresentation or selective use of biblical passages
How certain verses are presented to support Unitarian conclusions while other relevant passages are overlooked
The way some Unitarians appeal to scholars when those scholars support their position, while dismissing those same scholars — or other scholars when their conclusions don't agree
The question of who actually qualifies as an accredited scholar and whether that standard is being applied consistently
Claims made against people such as Dr. Al Garza and Dr. Michael L. Brown regarding their academic credentials
The importance of examining the actual evidence rather than simply appealing to someone's preferred authority
Why Christians should be willing to follow the evidence of Scripture wherever it leads
I also want to emphasize something important: my goal is not to attack people. My goal is to defend what I believe the Bible teaches and to encourage people to examine these issues for themselves.
I genuinely want to see people come to know the truth about Jesus Christ. If you're Unitarian, Trinitarian, Muslim, atheist, or simply someone trying to figure out what the Bible actually teaches, you're welcome here.
Don't just take my word for it. Open the Bible. Examine the context. Check the Greek and Hebrew. Look at the scholarship. Test the arguments.
And ultimately, ask the most important question:
What does Scripture actually teach about Jesus?
