Defunding the police can sound like a scary and radical idea, but if you look into the evidence and arguments it stops being scary, and instead becomes compelling!

However, before we can discuss alternatives to the police force, we need to understand the UK police force, where it is strong, and where it is weak.

Once we understand this, we can then explore why that is, and why they needn't be the answer to every social problem.

This video is the first in a series exploring the concept of 'Defund The Police', starting with what the formation of the UK police means for our modern police force, and what it can tell us about why the police really exist. (Hint: Its less about crime and more about Capitalism!).
