NOAA is considering banning the importation (and export) of Banggai cardinalfish despite their recent CITES-reviewed status of being perfectly safe. 120,000 aquacultured Banggais are imported annually into the U.S. -- which does NOT affect the wild populations whatsoever! This ruling would be counterproductive, and shut down a business that literally did the right thing many years ago that invested and has been producing these fish for the aquarium trade.
