Are JRPGs are makin' a comeback?!?! Hugely popular in the 80s and 90s (Final Fantasy VII, anyone?), the distinct gameplay of JRPGs is appearing in new releases like Child of Light and South Park: Stick of Truth. BUT there's a big question: can we call these games true JRPGs if they weren't made in Japan? Is "JRPG" an unmistakable style that can be applied to any game? Or is there something inherently Japanese about them, linking to the country's cultural heritage, that makes them more than just the gameplay itself? Watch the episode and find out!
