Using a few rough calculations, some basic science, and a lot of thinking time, I explore whether intelligent alien life could actually exist anywhere else in our galaxy.
Rather than focusing on famous ideas like the Drake Equation or the Fermi Paradox, this video looks at something more fundamental — how life began on Earth, and how a single, incredibly unlikely event may have led to complex life as we know it.
From early chemistry and amino acids, to RNA, proteins, and the first cell-like structures… right through to the moment when two cells stayed together instead of drifting apart — the origin of all animals — this video breaks down the science in a simple, easy-to-follow way.
And the conclusion?
That we might not just be rare… we might be completely alone in the Milky Way.
