After watching the R-rated Marvel X-Men film, Logan, with it's bloody, brutal, and violent fight scenes, I started wondering if comic book superhero movies are too violent. The latest Wolverine film uses violence differently than most superhero stories where fighting is typically portrayed as a redeeming action. But where does this myth of redemptive violence come from? And is it a problem?
